Dutch Data Science Awards event to be held in Haarlem
On Thursday June 8th 2017 the Dutch Data Science Awards event will be held in Haarlem. The Dutch Data Science Awards is an initiative of The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) and the Big Data Alliance (BDA). It is meant to give The Netherlands more exposure as the world’s leading country in data science, and to stimulate entrepeneurship and academic research.
The awards are divided in three categories, and startups and scientists have a chance to win a 5,000 euro prize in each category. The three award categories are named the Anthony Fokker Award (for innovative companies that exist for less than five years), the Gerrit van Dijk Award (for researchers promoted between Jan 2014 and Jan 2017) and the Hendrik Lorentz Award, which is meant for organizations that apply data science in a distinctive and innovative way.
The awards are supported by leading businesses in the technology sector: AIMMS, EY, Lubbers De Jong, Microsoft and ORTEC.
