    Warsteiner Distribution benefits from new ORTEC route planning solution

    ORTEC successfully implements the ORTEC solution for SAP ERP at Warsteiner Distribution KG “We were looking to automate our route planning processes – for which we did not previously use any separate application – and to design these processes in such a way as to both optimize our routes and be cost-effective,” said Karen Bayramyan, Finance, Administration and Logistics Manager at Warsteiner Distribution KG. As it turned out, ORTEC’s route planning software helped the company achieve just that. Bayramyan: “Our supply chain has become more efficient and our distribution processes have improved.” The company – one of Germany’s 20 largest beverage wholesalers, operating a total of four sites – has already noticed the positive results soon after implementing the solution: “Since the implementation we have been able to use fewer trucks and cut back on personnel costs and fuel costs,” Bayramyan explained. In addition, the ORTEC solution also provides information on customer delivery, which is used for reporting purposes (KPIs) and other initiatives.

    Gartner recognizes ORTEC technology innovations in Market Guide

    ORTEC has received recognition from Gartner in the Market Guide for Vehicle Routing and Scheduling for ORTEC Routing and ORTEC Routing for SAP.     Ten mathematics students win Young Talent Encouragement Awards

    Ten students of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics will be awarded the Young Talent Encouragement Award (Jong Talent Aanmoedigingsprijs) of five hundred euros for their academic results during the first half of the academic year on November 30 at the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) in Haarlem. These students earned the highest grades in the field of mathematics. The Young Talent Encouragement Awards are made available by ORTEC to promote the study of mathematics.

    Coca-Cola is delivered on time around the world thanks to Dutch planning system Earlier this month the Coca-Cola global headquarters in Atlanta were an interesting stop during the joint trade mission by Dutch and Flemish Prime Ministers Rutte and Bourgeois. Each day, Coca-Cola delivers cola and other soft drinks on time around the world, thanks to a global logistics network and an advanced planning system developed by ORTEC, a global company with headquarters in the Netherlands. The ORTEC planning systems at Coca-Cola accurately calculate how many trucks are required, how best to load them and the most efficient route, both in the warehouse and on the road. Coca-Cola’s ingenuity in conducting its activities has allowed it to make enormous savings. The members of the press travelling with Rutte, including from daily newspapers Algemeen Dagblad and de Telegraaf, and Rutte himself made a great deal of the Dutch company’s achievement at Coca-Cola worldwide.

ORTEC is specialized in scheduling and optimization systems, and it sent a team that was selected from among 100 registered participants to compete against six university finalists from Canada, China, Germany, Greece, Great Britain and Italy. The ORTEC team was proud of their fifth-place finish, while the German team from Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg won first place.
