To find a plan with a time window of less than two hours while creating optimal distribution routes for 300 trucks. The growing complexity and scale of its secondary distribution network, in combination with a manual and non-standardized planning method in most of its 10 depots, made AB InBev Belgium think about optimization of their logistics chain.
ORTEC Route Scheduling. AB InBev now efficiently executes the planning within the two-hour period. The system analyzes the typical distribution parameters of AB InBev, provides the planners with a user-friendly environment, and integrates with back-office systems. The result is optimized and reliable planning with an evenly spread workload. ORTEC Route Scheduling gives AB InBev insight into the cost of transport and return per customer. The return on investment of this project took less than one year.
In the decision making it was very important that the system take into account the typical characteristics of our distribution. We believe ORTEC Route Scheduling was the best placed solution to meet our requirements"
