The Regionale Ambulancevoorziening Utrecht (RAVU) offers emergency care and ambulance transport in the Province of Utrecht. The RAVU hotline has the difficult task of determining the complexity of the situation in order to send the right team. The shifts start and end at different times during the day, in the evening and at night, and extra shifts are scheduled during events. It is crucial for the RAVU to schedule the right amount of staff, while abiding the restrictions of the Working Hours Act and the CLA. RAVU chose to collaborate with ORTEC to support its complex staff scheduling process.
