Over the last two decades, Wierenga has gained experience in several key roles at ORTEC. After obtaining his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, he started his ORTEC career in 2002 in the Consulting department. He went on to play a vital role in ORTEC’s expansion into the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region: setting up the local operations in the region, co-founding the Bucharest office and taking on the role of Managing Director CEE.

After having spent over a decade in Romania, Wierenga started a new adventure and moved to Atlanta in the United States, an important market for ORTEC globally, to become ORTEC Americas’ Chief Operating Officer. During his four years in the US, Wierenga further strengthened the local team which tripled in size and delivered multiple impactful customer projects.
