Reverse deforestation

Every year 3.5 billion trees are lost. This has disastrous consequences for people, animals, and climate. To contribute to a healthier climate, more biodiversity and better living conditions for everyone, ORTEC started its partnership with Trees for All in 2021. Through this collaboration, we are compensating for the residual CO2 emissions of our daily business, and are contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of no poverty, climate action, and life on land.

6,700 trees compensating for 2,078 tonnes CO2

In 2023, we offset 110% of the previous year’s emissions – accounting for 2,078 tonnes of CO2 or almost 6,700 trees. With this donation, we support the ArBolivia sustainable agroforestry project in Bolivia, and we create the ORTEC forest in the Netherlands.

Realizing the ORTEC forest

Together with 50 participants, we recently planted 1,250 trees in the ORTEC forest, part of Het Groene Woud. A team of ORTEC colleagues rolled up their sleeves to expand these rare forests, which are home to all kinds of unique plants and animals.
