Career Events

ORTEC will be joining the famous algorithm programming contests of this year! The contests consist of:

• The DAPC (21/09/24) in Delft
• NWERC (22 to 24/11/24) in Delft
• BAPC (26/10/24) in Groningen

ORTEC will compete with 1 or 2 teams. We will try our best to end up solving as many algorithmic problems as possible within the set time limit and end up high in the rankings! But most of all, we want to have fun and connect with students from different universities. Feel free to approach us before or after the contest if you have any questions about ORTEC!

On the 13th of November 2024 ORTEC will join the Master speed date edition organized by VSAE, which is the study association of Actuarial Science, Econometrics and Business Analytics students at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). We hope to get in touch with master students who want to get to know ORTEC and/or are looking for a graduate internship at ORTEC.

We are looking forward to meeting you there!

The event will be the Royal IGC in Amsterdam from 13:00-17:00.

ORTEC has been joining the ECD for many years! This year ORTEC will be doing a presentation on the 18th of November at 13:00 about our company and give a few examples of business cases. We will be presenting at the Erasmus University in the Theil building. We are looking forward to meeting many Econometric students and answer all the questions they might have about ORTEC.

ORTEC will join the Practice Day of the study association ASSET (Tilburg University) on the 28th of November 2024. We will be participating for the speed dates in the morning, and we will do a workshop (case about workforce scheduling) in the afternoon. If you have not had the opportunity to speak to us then, you can always approach us during the closing drinks.

ORTEC will be attending the Company Dinner on the 3rd of December to meet with students from the Kraket study association in Amsterdam. We will have a 5-course menu where students will rotate each course to another company. We are looking forward to having a nice evening and talking with many students during a nice dinner. We hope to see you there!

On Tuesday the 10th of December, ORTEC joins the Company Dinner organized by the study association of A-Eskwadraat (Physics and Mathematics at the University of Utrecht).  We will be able to speak to students about ORTEC and talk with them about possibilities to do a graduate internship at ORTEC.

On the 27th of January 20 students of the study organization FAECTOR will travel to the office of Zoetermeer for a company visit in the afternoon. We will prepare a presentation and a case, and we will close off the day with a few drinks at the ORTap.

The National Econometricians Day (in Dutch: Landelijke Econometristendag, abbreviated as LED) is the largest annual recruitment event for students in the fields of econometrics, operations research, data science, and actuarial sciences in the Netherlands. On this day, over 600 students get the opportunity to orientate themselves on their future careers and get in contact with their potential future employers.
We will be present for the whole day and participate in the speeddates, company fair, lunch and networking drinks.

De Delftse Bedrijvendagen (DDB) is the largest technical career fair in the Benelux. Over 150 companies and thousands of students of the TU Delft will be present during this event. Only very few students do not know the largest technical career fair of the Benelux (yet). Around two-thirds of all TU Delft students does attend DDB at least once during their studying.
ORTEC will be there for the career fair and we hope to get in touch with many students.

Business Days Twente is the perfect opportunity for students to meet new companies. Students can meet over 170 companies during the career fair but also develop themselves during the Workshop Weeks.
ORTEC will participate in the career fair and hopefully get in touch with many young talents.

As ORTEC values the diversity of our own workforce, we decided to join the Diversity and Development Day of the study organization of Kraket. We will be present for speed dates and drinks, and we hope to get in touch with students to discuss this topic further.

The Career Expo at Wervingsdagen Eindhoven is a two-day event during which 180+ companies present themselves. On top of that, there are extra activities like resume checks. The Career Expo will take place on March 11th and 12th on-campus and is specially tailored for all TU/e students. However, if you are a non-TU/e student it is possible to walk around over the expo and have a talk with all the companies.
We will be present for the whole day and hopefully get in touch with many young talents.

The Betabanenmarkt (Dutch for Science Career Event) is an inclusive event for all science students in Leiden, from HBO to PhD and Biology to Astronomy. There is one major event every year which is a career fair ORTEC will attend this career fair and we look forward to seeing you there.

We will participate in the conference day of VESTING (study association for Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies in Groningen). During this day we will give a workshop (presentation and case) in the afternoon and join the drinks.
