Job description

Take the next step in your communications career at ORTEC, join us as our new Junior Content Creator

Do you have a flair for writing and a passion for turning ideas into compelling stories? Are you ready to take your next career step and grow your expertise in an international, tech-driven environment? ORTEC is looking for a Junior Content Creator to join our Corporate Communications team and help bring our brand to life through engaging copy, authentic storytelling, and creative campaigns.

The ORTEC journey began in 1981 with five Dutch students committed to using mathematics to make a positive impact. Today, ORTEC is the world’s leading supplier of mathematical optimization software and advanced analytics with over 1,000 employees and offices in 13 countries. We have helped more than 1,200 organizations make better decisions contributing to a more sustainable and efficient world.

What you’ll do

As a Junior Content Creator, you’ll play a key role in shaping ORTEC’s global communications. This is a hands-on role with ownership of your own projects, where your main focus will be writing impactful copy and telling stories that showcase how ORTEC makes a difference for its customers and people. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to uncover stories worth sharing.

You’ll work on:

  • Writing high-quality, engaging copy in English for LinkedIn, the ORTEC website, newsletters, and other external and internal channels.
  • Publishing and optimizing content on ORTEC’s website in our CMS.
  • Preparing, testing, and sending internal and external newsletters.
  • Ensuring published content is promoted across external and internal channels.
  • Developing briefs for our in-house design team, sourcing imagery, and ensuring timely delivery of visuals to support content.
  • Getting to know colleagues across the business to identify and share their stories, showing how ORTEC helps customers solve real-world challenges.
  • Bringing campaigns to life through clear, authentic storytelling aligned with ORTEC’s brand voice.
  • Managing content calendars and scheduling posts across ORTEC’s corporate social media channels, with a strong focus on LinkedIn.
  • Supporting visual content creation (graphics, infographics, short videos) when needed to complement your writing.
  • Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to refine and optimize content.
  • Contributing fresh ideas to strengthen ORTEC’s external voice and employer brand.

Who are you

You’re ready to move from “getting started” to growing your career in content creation. With 1–2 years of professional experience after university, you’re confident working independently, curious to learn, and eager to connect with people across the organization to tell their stories.

You bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, marketing, media, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in content creation, communications, or marketing.
  • A talent for copywriting in English – concise, creative, and engaging.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in reaching out to colleagues across teams and countries.
  • Familiarity with creating and managing content for LinkedIn and other digital platforms.
  • Experience publishing and managing content using a content management system (CMS).
  • Familiarity with an email newsletter platform.
  • Basic image handling skills and experience preparing design briefs or working with in‑house designers.
  • Some experience with visual content creation (graphics/video) – an advantage but not the main focus.
  • A proactive, curious mindset and the ability to balance creativity with attention to detail.
  • Excellent English communication skills (Dutch is a plus, but not required).
  • Availability to work at least 3 days per week in the Zoetermeer office.

What we offer

  • A growth opportunity in a global, data-driven tech company.
  • The chance to make your mark on impactful campaigns and creative projects.
  • An open, kind, and fun culture with hybrid working (minimum 3 days in the office).
  • An active employee association organizing social and sports activities.
  • A supportive team environment where your creative input is valued.
  • Opportunities to further develop your writing and storytelling skills.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Permanent contract waiting for you (we believe in commitment!).
  • 25 annual leave days, additional days from the age of 35.
  • Holiday remuneration of 8%.
  • Result-related remuneration.
  • Year-end bonus equal to a full month’s pay.
  • NS Business Card 100%, lease opportunity or commuting allowance.
  • Mobility allowance equal to 3% of your base salary.
