Our commitment to the Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi) is a significant step in aligning our operations with global sustainability goals. By setting science-based targets, we’re joining other climate-conscious organizations that are taking ambitious action to reduce their carbon footprint in the Race to Zero.
Michael van Duijn, CEO of ORTEC
"At ORTEC, we believe in using data and analytics for a better future, and that includes combating climate change. We’re proud to announce that our commitment to set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with the SBTi has been approved. This approval is a significant milestone on our sustainability journey, and we’re committed to continuous improvement for ORTEC and our customers. Together, we can build a more sustainable future."
We’re excited to embark on this journey towards a more sustainable future. The next step is to develop and validate our reduction targets. Following our commitment, we will develop emissions reduction targets that meet the criteria and have these validated by the SBTi. We will focus on reducing our emissions and regularly report our progress against these targets.
In 2022, ORTEC was validated as carbon neutral according to the PAS2060 standard. We offset our global emissions with high-quality carbon credits via our partnership with Trees for All, and will continue to do so. We recognize that this is only part of the solution and separate from our decarbonization efforts.
Setting science-based targets is a significant step towards achieving our sustainability goals. This commitment will guide our decision-making and drive innovation as we seek to reduce our emissions and build a more resilient business.
We’re excited to announce that we as ORTEC have pledged to set and achieve science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with climate science. The commitment to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) involves setting both near-term and net-zero targets.
