Internship: UX design iteration

One of the applications of ORTEC is the Route and Dispatch application. The current interface has been live for one year as an iteration of the on-premise application ORTEC Route and Dispatch. While it utilizes progressive disclosure to layer information, it still heavily relies on displaying lists of information, resulting in a significant amount of time and clicks being spent on manual tasks.

The primary objective of the new interface iteration is to present information to the user in a more user-friendly manner, aligning with the user’s process stages of prepare, plan, review, and adjust. This internship will primarily focus on streamlining the reviewing process, as it represents a significant portion of the user’s time. Subsequent internships will build upon the outcomes of this internship and enhance the adjustment stage.

The development of this new iteration will be driven by input from actual end users and data.

Internship learning outcomes:

-       Learn to map a customer journey based on real user input.

-       Learn to work iteratively on new concepts while aligning them with stakeholders.

-       Learn to apply various UX research and design methods.

-       Learn to work in a multidisciplinary team and together with an overarching UX team.

• You have strong communicative skills to align with stakeholders like the Product owner, business consultants, fellow UX/UI designers, frontend developers, and backend developers. 
• Passionate about UX Design and pushing the boundaries of what is common to have a meaningful impact.
• You are studying CMD, interaction design or something comparable.
• You are currently living in the Netherlands, studying at a Dutch University, and communicate fluently in English, verbally and in writing. A good command of Dutch is a plus
• You are available 32-40 hours per week for 6 months. Start date can be discussed.
• You can travel to the office (Zoetermeer or Groningen) at least once a week
