RTV EURO AGD is the trading name of EURO-net, a market leader in the white and brown goods segment and one of the biggest privately-owned companies in Poland. The retailer was looking for an optimized planning solution to maximize efficiency in next-day delivery, allow customers to select delivery windows, and improve the availability of installation services nationwide.

State-of-the-art solutions for a growing company

Due to its significant growth, RTV EURO AGD was looking for a system that would meet its needs, be easily adaptable, and offer innovative functionalities.

Their main objectives were to reduce the time needed for planning and achieve the highest possible supply chain efficiency while optimizing transport costs. As the volume of incoming orders increased significantly, EURO-net needed a centralized planning solution in order to plan for much larger volumes with optimal team deployment.

These goals have been fully achieved with ORTEC Routing and Dispatch. The solution helped RTV EURO AGD stay ahead of the game and meet these challenges head-on.

Yesterday a challenge, today a solution that caters to every transportation requirement

“We have been introducing modern solutions in transport for a long time. We recently equipped our technician-delivery employees and technician-installers with a special application and completed the implementation of the ORTEC solution. The application, which uses data from ORTEC Routing and Dispatch and its top-class algorithms, determines delivery points and definines the fastest and most optimal route that the driver must cover on a given day,” states Paweł Olszewski. “It also includes delivery documentation, information on the number of products to be delivered and the specific steps that our deliverymen and technician-installers must perform when completing the order. This makes daily planning a lot easier and allows for greater automation,” concluded Paweł Olszewski.

With ORTEC Routing and Dispatch, RTV EURO AGD has revamped its planning efforts, moving from a decentralized process to a centralized planning team that processes thousands of daily orders.

In Poland, the company has one central warehouse and 15 depots. All transport planning activities are supported by the ORTEC solution, which is integrated with mobile devices to share messages, GPS coordinates, planned activities and delivery confirmations.

Mathematical optimization results in reduced costs and lower CO₂ emissions

ORTEC’s advanced analytics software was an enabler. Thanks to the solution, RTV EURO AGD optimized visibility and efficiency, as well as enhanced collaboration across the supply chain. Vehicle utilization increased while the number of total miles traveled has been reduced, resulting in lower CO₂ emissions.

“By applying mathematical algorithms to route planning and achieving higher efficiency in the use of our fleet, we managed to reach cost savings up to a few percentage points and reduced planning time. We are aiming to achieve ROI in less than 1 year,” says Rafał Gąska, RTV EURO AGD Supply Chain Director.

Planning consciously for the future

The company is planning include additional functionalities in ORTEC Routing and Dispatch, such as external portals for the carrier. These role-based portals encourage supply chain collaboration by providing easy-to-use views of the planning schedule and interactive, collaborative tools. Moreover, RTV EURO AGD will use ORTEC Tactical Routing, a tactical transport optimization solution. ORTEC Tactical Routing creates well-balanced delivery and collection zones. It divides deliveries over the scheduling period and tactically determines the best master routes to ensure the most efficient schedule. With this, the company will get even better and more effective tactical and strategic "what if" scenario analyses.
