Job description
Do you want to contribute to a better world? Do you want to help companies optimize their staff deployment, gain efficiency, and boost employee engagement? Do you want to tell your friends that you are working at a company that wants to reduce its footprint on the world? You’re the right person for our team!
At ORTEC, we build several products to support companies with their planning challenges. The largest areas ORTEC provides these products for are routing and dispatch and employee rostering.
In the Workforce Management division, we are dedicated to enhancing our proven solutions with the power of the cloud. Several software development teams are engaged in migrating and building cloud-native solutions—and this is where we need a motivated and enthusiastic Front-end Software Engineer.
You will be part of one of our international cross-functional squads, each focusing on a subset of our solutions. We utilize Scrum and Kanban methodologies, encouraging strong team collaboration. Every squad has well-defined roles, such as Scrum Master and Product Owner, ensuring a clear way of working. We value team connection and regularly organize both team and department events to keep everyone connected.
Our cloud-native solutions are hosted on Microsoft Azure and written in C# and Angular. Performance is key in our applications, which is why we use Angular with a strong focus on making effective use of RxJS for reactive and maintainable applications. This is often combined with WebSockets to provide live data updates, ensuring our applications always show the latest data. An internal library with styling, components, and utilities helps developers quickly and consistently build state-of-the-art front ends.
Who are you
You have a solid foundation in Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS and are comfortable working with modern Angular applications. You know how to write clean, maintainable Angular code and are mindful of performance best practices.
You have experience working with RxJS flows, including combining and transforming Observables. You understand the differences between commonly used Subjects and know when to apply them. You are eager to deepen your programming skills with guidance from the team.
Requirements
Around 2 years of relevant experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Angular, and RxJS
Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and Git (or other version control systems)
Experience working with REST APIs
Comfortable breaking down and solving moderately complex front-end tasks
Inquisitive, creative, and enthusiastic about sharing your ideas and know-how
Able to communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written
Holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or comparable experience
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain Angular front-end features for cloud-native applications
Collaborate with backend engineers and product owners in cross-functional squads
Work with RxJS and real-time data (e.g. WebSockets) in performance-sensitive scenarios
Contribute to code reviews and the continuous improvement of front-end practices
What we offer
Open, kind, and fun culture
Permanent contract demonstrating our commitment
Salary range (2865-3500 Euro gross monthly) - depending on interview evaluations
benefits (extra days off, health insurance, etc.)
Annual raise based on performance
