BAM Energy & Water's EV desk installs and maintains charging stations for municipalities, fast-charging sites, and underground car parks. Planning these specialized engineers was manual and time-consuming, with little room for flexibility. BAM wanted to plan a scarce resource right the first time and give customers insight into, and a say in, the schedule.

A key requirement was that automated planning could be added as a tool inside the EV desk's existing Mendix platform, DigiFlow, where ORTEC's planning logic now runs. The schedule shifted from weekly to continuous, so changes are far easier to make, and engineers' daily routes are optimized automatically against multiple factors. Customers can self-schedule appointments and view the overall schedule.

Beyond time savings, BAM points to predictability as the biggest gain: the process from preparation to delivery has become easier to forecast. The system gives continuous insight into the schedule and the flexibility to adjust, getting the right engineer to the right place each day.
