ORTEC’s supply chain planning software has allowed National DCP (NDCP) to establish an integrated planning, execution, and control framework that improves how supply chain decisions are made and executed. The results include increases in critical KPIs such as On Time & In Full (OTIF) while reducing trips and miles driven and lowering fuel costs and emissions.
The challenge: Supporting a growing distribution network
National DCP (NDCP), the $3 billion supply chain management company serving Dunkin’s franchisees, is a unified, national distribution organization focused on consistent service and sustainable cost control. The group manages large volumes, tight delivery windows, and increasing cost pressure, while reliably supplying nearly 10,000 restaurants. As its network grew, NDCP recognized that experience alone could no longer support these demands. Technology was required to coordinate operations, improve real time decision-making, and support the future evolution of the supply chain. They found the right partner in ORTEC.
Value created: Accelerated digital transformation and operational savings
NDCP has partnered with ORTEC to accelerate the company’s digital transformation, delivering operational savings. ORTEC’s supply chain planning software solution has allowed NDCP to establish an integrated planning, execution, and control framework that improves how supply chain decisions are made and executed. Through increased real time visibility, planned vs. actual performance analysis, and visit day optimization, NDCP has raised critical KPIs such as On Time & In Full (OTIF), while reducing trips and miles driven, and lowering fuel costs and emissions.
Together, NDCP and ORTEC implemented advanced planning, routing, execution, analytics, and Control Tower capabilities to connect processes from store order through final delivery. ORTEC’s solutions enabled scenario modeling, dynamic daily routing, real-time visibility, and continuous improvement, replacing manual processes and fragmented tools with a single, integrated platform. The ORTEC Control Tower provided insight into planned versus actual performance, early risk detection, and the ability to intervene before disruptions affected service.

COO - National DCP
ORTEC is a true partner to National DCP. Together, we reorganized how our supply chain operates at national scale, giving us better visibility, stronger decision support, and the confidence to serve Dunkin’ franchisees every day.
Control Tower as an operational core
The ORTEC Control Tower is central to how NDCP manages execution. It provides a real-time view of where shipments are planned to be, where they are, and which constraints could affect service. Data from electronic logging devices, proof of delivery, and driver feedback is aligned against the original plan to highlight emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
This shared operational picture allows NDCP teams to intervene early, often before downstream impacts are visible to restaurants. Issues can be addressed hundreds of miles away without escalating into service disruptions. This visibility also supports measurable improvements in service performance. In locations actively using the Control Tower, NDCP has seen notable gains in on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery, as well as savings in trips and miles driven. “We struggled to consistently hit 85% OTIF, but with ORTEC, we’re averaging 88% and continuing to improve,” Domonkos noted.
The benefits: Transforming transportation
With ORTEC solutions in place, NDCP standardized how transportation decisions are planned and executed across the network. Planning, routing, and execution now operate on a shared, data-driven foundation.
This shift created conditions for sustained improvements in efficiency, service reliability, and day-to-day execution, while also improving the experience for planners, supervisors, and drivers. For frontline teams, the impact has been immediate. Supervisors and planners now work within tools designed to support their daily decisions.
· Improved service performance (OTIF)
Through increased visibility and better execution control, NDCP has made measurable progress in on-time, in-full delivery. In centers actively using the Control Tower, OTIF performance improved from the mid-80% range to averaging 88%, with continued progress toward 90%.
· Significant cost savings for transportation
Visit Day Optimization has delivered measurable reductions in miles driven, fuel consumption, and driver time. NDCP has already implemented this approach across approximately half of its distribution centers, with additional expansion planned.
· Operational efficiency at scale
ORTEC replaced fragmented tools with a single platform, reducing training time and improving usability for planners, supervisors, and drivers. Teams execute more consistently across the network with fewer manual workarounds.
· Smarter, data-driven routing
Territory optimization and visit-day planning replaced static routing with decisions informed by both historical and real-time data, improving transportation efficiency without compromising service.
· Real-time visibility and control
Delivery tracking, proof-of-delivery data, and Control Tower insights give teams a shared view of execution, allowing for faster and more proactive responses.
· Continuous improvement through feedback
Driver debriefs and operational analytics help identify bottlenecks, breakdown trends, and load-level issues. These insights are fed back into the system to improve future planning and execution.

COO - National DCP
The impact of real-time information on our customers has been significant. More reliable deliveries, lower costs, and the ability to maintain service during major disruptions directly support franchisee success.
A partnership focused on execution
At its core, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to operational discipline. National DCP and ORTEC work together to maintain a supply chain that is reliable, cost-conscious, and built to adapt. Continuous feedback, shared data, and aligned execution ensure that both teams can adapt quickly and improve performance over time. The result is a national network that supports franchisees consistently while positioning the organization to respond to whatever challenges come next.
