    Peter Blangé leaves ORTEC Sports to take up new role at KNVB

    Peter Blangé, currently Data Analytics & Innovation Manager at ORTEC Sports, is leaving ORTEC to work as Performance and Innovation Manager at KNVB, the Royal Dutch Football Union. He will start working at KNVB as of February 1, 2017. “Football is a fantastic sport, I am taking up a challenging new assignment at KNVB.” - Peter Blangé.

    Warsteiner Distribution benefits from new ORTEC route planning solution

    ORTEC successfully implements the ORTEC solution for SAP ERP at Warsteiner Distribution KG “We were looking to automate our route planning processes – for which we did not previously use any separate application – and to design these processes in such a way as to both optimize our routes and be cost-effective,” said Karen Bayramyan, Finance, Administration and Logistics Manager at Warsteiner Distribution KG. As it turned out, ORTEC’s route planning software helped the company achieve just that. Bayramyan: “Our supply chain has become more efficient and our distribution processes have improved.” The company – one of Germany’s 20 largest beverage wholesalers, operating a total of four sites – has already noticed the positive results soon after implementing the solution: “Since the implementation we have been able to use fewer trucks and cut back on personnel costs and fuel costs,” Bayramyan explained. In addition, the ORTEC solution also provides information on customer delivery, which is used for reporting purposes (KPIs) and other initiatives.

    Thomas More Hogeschool and ORTEC: partners to provide practical training to logistics managers

    Thomas More is a Belgian-based union of universities of applied sciences formed as part of the Association of Leuven University. Its institutions provide professional training to students by teaching them practical skills they can use as soon as they graduate. As part of its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, innovative and practical education, the educational institution’s Logistics Management program recently began working closely with ORTEC. This program was recently overhauled, which saw the number of first-year students double. The alliance with ORTEC as a Partner in Education is expected to make the program even more appealing to students and even better equipped to accommodate future changes.

    Computable nominates The Analytics Academy for ICT Trainer of the Year

    The Analytics Academy (TAA) was chosen as a nominee for ICT Trainer of the Year by the general jury of the Computable Awards 2016. TAA is a collaboration between the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Amsterdam Data Science (ADS) and ORTEC. The Academy provides training in Big Data, Data Science and Business Analytics for both commercial, non-commercial and government organizations. The public may vote for their favorite nominee as of June 13, 2016. Computable will announce the winner on November 1, 2016, during the Computable Awards show.
